5-Star Care

Western Reserve Hospital has been recognized as a 5-star Quality Hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Western Reserve Hospital is the only full-service hospital in Summit, Portage and Stark Counties to achieve this distinction, allowing consumers to better compare hospitals when deciding where to go for care.

“We are thrilled to announce our 5-star rating, which signifies our collective commitment to providing the highest safety, quality and satisfaction to our patients,” said Dr. Robert Kent, Presidents and CEO of Western Reserve Hospital. “Western Reserve Hospital’s physicians and staff never fail to deliver our signature 100% patient-centered care to fulfill the needs of each and every patient that enters our facility.”

The rating is based on how well hospitals perform across seven areas of quality, including safety of care, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, readmission, efficient use of medical imaging and mortality.

CMS assigns patient experience ratings to thousands of hospitals annually, ranging from one to five stars. Less than 14% of hospitals in the country attain a 5-star rating. Learn more on medicare.gov/care-compare/.
