Dr. Zane Giffen and Dr. Damian Garcher recently launched Western Reserve Hospital Urology's newest treatment option, Aquablation Therapy via The HYDROS™ Robotic System. Aquablation Therapy is the only real-time, ultrasound-guided, robotic-assisted, heat-free waterjet procedure for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

This innovative treatment option is a minimally invasive service to better treat prostate enlargement. The HYDROS™ Robotic System is designed to deliver an accurate and consistent treatment plan for better clinical outcomes. Aquablation Therapy is a resective procedure, which means that the prostate tissue causing symptoms is surgically removed. No incision is made in the abdomen, as the prostate is reached through the urethra. This procedure is performed in the hospital under anesthesia and typically takes an hour and may involve an overnight stay.

Dr. Garcher and Dr. Giffen recently completed their first two cases last week with great success. This is an exciting milestone for Western Reserve Hospital as the physician-owned care leader continues to seek new and meaningful care offerings to best serve patients.
