Athena Akron recently hosted a luncheon featuring the topic of “Women’s Wellness –Techniques for Promoting a Healthier Version of You," and welcomed a variety of area health experts, including Western Reserve Hospital Endocrinologist, Dr. Manjinder Kaur as its key presenter for the event. Dr. Kaur encouraged women to be their own health advocates, do their research, and actively participate in their care. She emphasized that patient care is a partnership approach and provided guidance on how others can monitor and maintain their health with their provider. Attendees learned about alternative health options, if medical websites were accurate, and how to have a difficult conversation with a health provider.
