Western Reserve Hospital was recently selected as one of only 377 hospitals in the U.S. to receive the Healthgrades 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award.
Nearly 3,100 hospitals were evaluated, and this recognition puts our hospital among the top 15% of hospitals in the nation for this outstanding patient experience designation. Out of 270 Ohio hospitals, Western Reserve Hospital is also one of only 14 hospitals to receive this award in the state.
"Kudos to all who work so hard each day to build the best possible patient experience," said Dr. Robert Kent, President and CEO. "Special thanks to Wes Wright, CPXP, Manager, Patient Experience; Susan Straus, RN, Senior Director, Inpatient Nursing; Britanni Studer, RN, Manager, Med-Surgical Services, Courtney Speer, RN, Manager, Med-Surgical Services; Meg Lapsevich, RN, Manager, Critical Care; the 2 and 3 West Unit teams, ICU staff, attending team members, residents and support staff members for their often behind-the-scenes work at so many crucial touchpoint areas that feed into maintaining and enhancing the care and service experience for so many patients."
The award recognizes hospitals that provide top-quality care while ensuring a positive healthcare experience for patients. Healthgrades found that doctor communication, nurse communication and clear communication about patient care when discharged were the key metrics to predict a patient’s likelihood to recommend the hospital to family and friends.
