In 2002, Dr. Chylsta performed the first laparoscopic bariatric surgery in Summit County. Since that time, in addition to his general and heartburn surgeries, Dr. Chlysta has performed more than 1,000 bariatric surgeries. Dr. Chlysta earned his Doctorate of Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Heart Association. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of General Surgery at Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Northeastern Ohio Medical University and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo Medical School. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, achieved Fellowship status in The American College of Surgeons and is a member of The Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
