Western Reserve Hospital honors physicians at annual Medical Staff Meeting and Resident Research Presentation

Medical Staff MeetingCuyahoga Falls, Ohio, November 12, 2018 - Western Reserve Hospital recently held its annual Medical Staff Meeting and Resident Research Presentation at the Sheraton of Cuyahoga Falls. Residents from the hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Program presented their current research posters as part of a program competition. Peer-selected presentations included the following, with poster contest winners indicated in parenthesis:

Dr. Jessica Tullington,  "A Community Hospital's Implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery for Bariatric Procedures" (1st place)

Dr. Mike Fisher,  "Infantile (less than 2 years) Supracondylar Humeral Fractures” (2nd place)

Dr. Jillian Nicholas,  "Ostomy Education for Improving Nursing Knowledge and Confidence" (3rd place)

Dr. Logan Mellert,  "Postoperative Euglycemic Diabetic Ketoacidosis Secondary to SGLT-2 Inhibitor in the Bariatric Patient" (People’s Choice)

Dr. Heather Preston (presenting on behalf of Dr. Gordon Preston), “Maintenance of Curve Correction with Magnetic Growing Rods at 2 Years”

The event culminated in a dinner and special guest presentation from healthcare futurist and keynote speaker, Dr. Ian Morrison who presented “Leading Change in Health Care: Building a Viable System for Today and Tomorrow”.
