Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, October 17, 2018 – In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Western Reserve Hospital is hosting their free, annual Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Friday, October 19 at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Throughout the luncheon, attendees will hear an inspiring story of cancer survival and learn about general cancer awareness and prevention from a Pioneer Physicians Network physician.
Laura Dolan, a writing professor at Kent State University Stark Campus and Gotham Writers’ Workshop in New York, is the keynote speaker. Laura is also a Breast Cancer Innovation Foundation Board Member and a writer for curetoday.com. She will be sharing her story of surviving cancer in her presentation, “It Takes a Village”.
Victoria DiGennaro, DO, a board-certified Family Medicine Physician with Pioneer Physicians Network, will share her expertise in cancer in her presentation, “Building Blocks of Cancer Prevention and Awareness”. Dr. DiGennaro received her medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Western Reserve Hospital.
Theresa Carter, President of OMNOVA Solutions Foundation will emcee the event. Theresa was promoted to President of OMNOVA in 2007 after serving as the Executive Director since 2004 and Director since 2000. Additionally, she has been recognized with multiple awards, such as the Helen E. Arnold Humanitarian Award, Community Health President’s Award and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service to Youth Award.
