Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, October 10, 2019 – In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Western Reserve Hospital is hosting their annual, free Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Friday, October 18 at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Throughout the luncheon, attendees will hear an inspiring story about cancer’s effect on others and learn about general cancer awareness and prevention from a guest physician speaker.
Mike Allio, a cancer awareness advocate, is the keynote speaker. He will share his story about his wife’s battle with cancer and how it changed their lives forever.
Dr. Gregory Beddell, a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon, will provide tips and information on cancer awareness and treatment from a clinician’s perspective.
Judi Hill, president of NAACP Akron, will emcee the event. Judi is a former teacher, curriculum specialist and administrator with over thirty years of service advancing the educational development of youth and strengthening community partnerships throughout Akron. She has been recognized with multiple awards including the Akron Urban League Pioneer Award and AKA Global Leadership Award.
