Reiki is a healing technique used to reduce stress and promote relaxation, thereby enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It is safe, gentle and non-invasive, while supporting coping, overall health and healing. It compliments standard medical treatments by stimulating the body’s own natural healing process. Reiki carries no side effects and does not interact with treatment medications. It can provide support with any diagnosis, curable or terminal.

Reiki is performed by gently laying hands on a person who is resting in a comfortable position (sitting or lying).

No special clothing changes or equipment is required. To the preference of the patient, quiet and calming music may be played in the background. Lights may be dimmed. A towel scented with essential oils may be placed over the eyes. A suitable, healing affirmation may be offered to the patient (i.e. “I am healthy, I am whole.”)
