COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Western Reserve Hospital is serving as a community vaccine provider. As the Ohio Department of Health allocates vaccines to the hospital, we will schedule a clinic for appropriate distribution phases. The current Ohio Department of Health distribution includes:

1D Category – Ohioans with medical conditions not addressed in previous phases, including type 2 diabetes and end-stage renal disease. Those with certain medical conditions putting them at a higher risk for adverse outcomes due to COVID-19 remain eligible, including:
•    Sickle cell anemia
•    Down syndrome
•    Cystic fibrosis
•    Muscular dystrophy
•    Cerebral palsy
•    Spina bifida
•    People born with severe heart defects, requiring regular specialized medical care
•    People with severe type 1 diabetes, who have been hospitalized for this in the past year
•    Phenylketonuria (PKU), Tay-Sachs, and other rare, inherited metabolic disorders
•    Epilepsy with continuing seizures; hydrocephaly; microcephaly, and other severe neurological disorders
•    Turner syndrome, fragile X syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and other severe genetic disorders
•    People with severe asthma, who have been hospitalized for this in the past year
•    Alpha and beta thalassemia
•    Solid organ transplant candidates and recipients
2B Category – Ohioans age 50 and older
2C Category – Ohioans age 40 and older
2D Category – Ohioans age 18 and older* 
*Under the eligibility requirements as defined by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Western Reserve Hospital will be offering vaccines to all Ohioans age 18 and older. Western Reserve Hospital cannot accept vaccine requests from anyone under the age of 18. Though the ODH has listed eligibility for Ohioans age 16 and up, only certain vaccine types which Western Reserve Hospital has not received are identified for that age group.
