Rotation Information

Western Reserve Hospital is proud to offer rotations in the following specialties for 3rd and 4th year medical students:

  • Internal Medicine*

  • Intensive Care Medicine

Applications for rotations are done electronically on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upon receipt of the application, all students will receive an e-mail within one to two weeks to confirm the rotation dates and to convey specific information in regards to starting times, preceptor contact information, directions and orientation details. All medical student rotators are required to attend the Visiting Medical Student Orientation.

While at WRH on rotation, medical students enjoy complimentary meals, free parking, and high quality weekly didactics. Each student is also required to attend rotation specific didactic requirements as well.

Residency Audition Rotations

Western Reserve Hospital is proud to offer audition rotations in the following specialties for 4th year medical students:

  • Family Medicine
  • General Internal Medicine
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Otolaryngology (ENT)

Applications for audition rotations are done electronically on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please denote on the application if the rotation is being used to evaluate WRH for a residency position (also known as an Audition Rotation) as some programs will formally interview a candidate during the final week of the rotation. Housing

Western Reserve Hospital offers free housing for visiting medical students, space permitting, with a $50 refundable deposit. Our housing complex is located within a 1-2 minute scenic walking distance from WRH, and allows for easy accessibility to the hospital and local area shopping and restaurants. Each apartment unit contains a kitchen area along with separate sleep, living, and dining rooms. Guests enjoy secure internet access in all rooms and have access to the full catalog of WRH library services and electronic resources. Please denote the need for student housing in the appropriate space on the medial student application as housing units are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
